Interested in Becoming a Volunteer?  Join Today!

Marine Rescue Batemans Bay is proud to be part of a statewide network of over 3,000 professionally trained volunteers dedicated to saving lives on the water.  By joining our team, you’ll become part of a vibrant, community-focused organisation delivering vital safety services to the NSW boating public and, more specifically, our local community.

Volunteers must be aged 16 years or older.  If you already have fundraising, radio or boating experience, fantastic, we will build on that.  If not, we will teach you everything you need to know, from the basics of safe boating to obtaining your Boating Licence, First Aid certification, and Marine Radio Operator’s Certificate of Proficiency and much more, through our professional, high-quality training processes.

Marine Rescue Batemans Bay holds a position of trust within the community.  As part of our commitment to safety and integrity, all applicants are required to undergo a National Criminal History Record Check (CrimTrac) before being offered membership.  A criminal record does not automatically disqualify you; each application is assessed on its individual merits.  To get the processes underway, you can submit your Expression of Interest.  Alternatively, if you are familiar with Marine Rescue, you can proceed directly to our membership application form.

Expression of Interest (EOI)

Lodge an Expression of Interest with a unit (or units) to find out more about volunteering with MRNSW and whether your available time and interest areas are a good fit. Each selected unit will respond to you in due course with more information and the next steps.

Membership Application

If you have already engaged with the unit (direct or via the EOI option) and feel you have the right interests and availability to jump on board, please complete the Online Membership Application Form below.  This process is in-depth and includes your personal details, such as Drivers Licence or Passport Numbers (and more) that we will use for the Police Check process.  Please read the Privacy Policy and introductory information on Page 1 of the application form, so you are fully prepared.

Once these are completed and submitted, you will hear from the Marine Rescue Batemans Bay Membership Officer, who will guide you through the next steps.

Whether you’re interested in radio operations, vessel crew, fundraising, or support roles, there’s a place for you at Marine Rescue Batemans Bay.  Join us and make a meaningful difference in our community on and off the water.
