Why you should become a Radio Club supporter!

As a Radio Club supporter, you will receive a unique call sign for your vessel, which will be associated with your Boat, Car and contact details, making your day on the water safer every time.  You will be issued a BM Number (e.g. BM892) that remains yours as long as your yearly membership remains current.  Even in the best-prepared vessels, things can go wrong, and it’s a great piece of mind knowing that we are here for you and ready to assist at any time.  We do not charge for our services or assistance, regardless of whether you are a Radio Club member; we will come and rescue you. The Radio Club does not provide membership, material benefits, recognition or access to any service that is not offered to all members of the boating community; it provides us with your details so we can update our system information. We ask for a $50.00 donation per year.

Your Radio Club BM Number is used when logging on via our professional Radio Services on VHF Channel 16, the easy-to-use Marine Rescue Mobile App, or even by phone. 

Can I log on with Marine Rescue if I’m not a Radio Club member?

Yes, but being a Radio Club supporter greatly enhances your safety and makes logging on quick and painless, as we store your vessel details in our Seahawk tracking system.

Who can be a Radio Club Member:

Anyone who owns any boat or personal watercraft and wishes to have enhanced surveillance and increased safety while on the water.  This can be used on any waters along the coast of NSW, and you can call any Marine Rescue Unit and use your personal Radio Club call sign BMxxx, and they will find you on the system.

What does it cost:

$50.00 supporter contribution per year, which runs from 1st January to 31 December – with renewal required before the end of December each year.  

Your Radio Club supporter contribution is a donation, and as such, your membership is tax-deductible as we are a registered charity.

Your supporter contribution helps us maintain our volunteer service as we rely heavily on community support.

You can update your information and provide your supporter contribution online on this website, over the phone using a credit or debit card or cash/debit/credit card at the Base at Haning Rock.
